Our current P.O.P. Project is in Central India, where we are building a much needed Health Aide Institute that will  provide economic independence to uneducated low caste girls (ages 12 through 18 years). These young girls are considered an economic burden to their family and society; without any human rights they are often forced into child marriage with a much older man or sold off as slave laborers.

 

In addition, sex predators seek out these uneducated girls for rape and the forced sex trade knowing society will look the other way. P.O.P’s desire is to provide the necessary tools for hope, dignity and a future for these innocent victims.

  

Education in India is the great equalizer! It enables children from any background to reach beyond restrictions that their religion or upbringing may place on them. By facilitating financial independence through education, uneducated girls can now break free  from the shackles that their family and community place on them. The new Health Aide training courses will provide a nationally recognized certification that would enable girls to earn a sustainable income, give back to society, and live a life of personal choice and freedom.
